A case of otitic retropharyngeal abscess

Abstract
|
|
|
This is a case of the acute retropharyngeal abscess complicated in the course of acutely flared-up mastoiditis.
He visited us with the emergent complaints similar to otitic intracranial complications, mild respiratory distress and dysphagia.
We noted-about 15cc of pure pus in the perisinus area of sigmoid during the mastoidectomy and about 50cc of pure pus was evacuated from the retropharyngeal space.
This patient´s condition became uneventfully well after radical mastoidectomy and retropharyngeal drainage.
